cd command – this command takes us to a specific directory.
cd /
Change to the root directory. Root is the uppermost/topmost directory in the directory structure. No parent is there for the root.
cd ..
Change to the immediate parent directory. One step back.
cd .
Change to the current directory.
cd
cd ~
cd $HOME
By default it is change to the home directory for cd and rest does the same.
cd -
Toggling between two recent directories.
cd ../../
Goes to two directories back.
cd ../../../
Goes to 3 directories back towards root.
